What if the difference between surviving and thriving as a leader came down to just five behaviors?
At this year’s OBM Network Annual Conference in Reykjavík, Iceland, I’ll be delivering a keynote titled: “Results: From Burnout to Breakthrough with Behavioral Leadership.”
It’s based on a deceptively simple idea:
Leadership isn’t about charisma—it’s about behavior. And behavior is teachable, coachable, and researchable.
Over the past 20 years, my team and I have coached over 350 senior leaders across 19 countries. No matter the setting—ABA, safety, human services, or industry—what separates effective leaders from the rest is not personality. It’s consistent behavioral practice.
In this keynote, I’ll share a three-part leadership model—self-management, relationship management, and performance management—grounded in behavioral science. You’ll hear stories of leaders we’ve coached who learned to practice these behaviors, and you’ll meet “Travis,” a plant manager who turned his entire team around by applying a five-step behavior change process.
This talk is both a practical guide and a research challenge. As OBM professionals, we’re uniquely equipped to move leadership from “soft skill” to science. But that only happens if we pinpoint, measure, and reinforce leadership behaviors with the same rigor we bring to safety or skill acquisition.
If you’re a behavior analyst, a student of OBM, a consultant, or someone obsessed with making organizations better—this conference has something for you.
ICEABA is October 9th-10th — don’t miss this opportunity! You can register for the in-person conference in Reykjavik here, or for on-demand access here.
Let’s create results—together.
