Many people I meet feel helpless to solve problems they care about at work.
I’d say it’s the norm in for supervisors and middle management in manufacturing and construction.
When you feel helpless to solve a particular problem at work, it sometimes helps to have a strategy or a plan.
When it comes to people, understanding why people do what they do (i.e., behavioral science) can give you such a strategy.
…Solving problems is mostly about having a knowledge of the available options.
…You often only need to know one more option than you currently know in order to move things past the status quo.
Send me an email (john@reachingresults.com) if you’d like a list of resources to develop your behavioral science knowledge and see more options available to you when it comes to people.
